Position Summary:

  • Communicate and facilitate understanding of corporate and Manufacturing Operations Department vision, philosophy, objectives, values, and management style to employees, customers, and other constituent groups.
  • Develop and implement strategies and plans to support achievement of Manufacturing Operations and corporate goals.
  • Monitor short-range plans and key performance indicators and implement timely and appropriate follow-up actions.
  • Maintain constant focus on customer satisfaction and direct all activities to manufacture and deliver products on time, to specification, and at the lowest reasonable cost to meet customer needs.
  • Define and communicate performance expectations for managers and staff, and coach and counsel in the performance of position responsibilities.
  • Identify and implement justified technology, equipment, systems, and process improvements to maximize return on investment of plant, equipment, raw materials, and process inventory.
  • Demonstrate through actions, a commitment to the philosophy of continuous improvement in all aspects of performance.
  • Improve the quality of work life of employees, ensuring interaction based upon dignity and respect and the maintenance of a healthful and safe work environment.
  • Lead in the development and application of policies that support the needs of the organization and provide fair and equitable treatment for all employees.
  • Risk Management
  • Responsible for security management to ensure employee safety and protection of company property.

    Environmental:
  • Ensure that applicable training, reporting, recordkeeping and inspections are completed for:
  • Air permit compliance
  • Waste disposal (hazardous, special, universal, general, etc.)
  • Storm water program
  • Federal & PA Community Right-to-Know reporting
  • Transportation of hazardous materials
  • Other programs as applicable
  • Support plant management in project planning by assessing the impact of applicable regulations and providing guidance for compliance
  • Support MBCI Corporate programming
  • Compile and submit metrics data as needed
  • Promote activities needed to support the KCMA ESP and compile documentation as needed
  • Report Environmental Scorecard updates as requested
  • Participate in network teleconferences
  • Maintain professional skills through periodic off-site training for at least:
  • Hazardous waste management (annually)
  • Transportation of hazardous materials (every 3 years)
  • Assist organization by participating in special taskforce assignments and special projects.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.

    Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
  • OSHA and EPA regulations.
  • 5S / Six Sigma desired.
  • Lean manufacturing philosophy desired.
  • Ability to perform project cost analysis and justification.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to Multi-task and balance priorities.
  • Ability to work flexible hours/shifts.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results with efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Dedicated and committed safety leadership and presence.
  • Solid people skills with professional demeanor.
  • Ability to educate others and communicate effectively with al levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrate ability to implement safety policies and practices.
  • Must have analytical reasoning and problem solving capabilities.
  • Balanced approach to technical, business and people aspects of business.
  • 3 - 5 years General Security, Risk Management, and Environmental desired.
  • Manufacturing operation

    Education:
    BS degree in safety science or environmental engineering preferred. Related degree or equivalent experience considered.

    Certifications:
  • CSP / CIH desired.
  • OHST / ASP strongly desired.
  • CPR and First Aid certification a plus.
